Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me... I need to create a batch file which will close a program which is running, copy some files and then reopen the program. The reason for this batch file is the program is running all the time and can only be closed for a short time and then problems start to happen but we cannot back the files up as they are always in use by this program. What i wanted to do was schedule on a daily asis a batch file to run that would close the file, copy the files that we needed to a temporary location and then reopen the program which hopefully would not take that long. I have the batch file working apart from the manual close of the program.

Can anybody help me?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as this would stop a user having to close the program down manually and then waiting for the batch file to run, it could e scheduled overnight for example

Thanks

Absolutley perfect, i have been racking my brain for hours.
Thankyou
Just out of curiosity is there a useful site or book which lists command line based parameters

Thankyou

Bcasner's" secret instruction works wonders, try it from the Start Run box.
