Having a problem with Xp on a new Toshiba laptop...

It seems to be resetting the clock back to jan 1st 2000 at random intervals..

any suggetions anyone ;O)

cheers

Try checking your Bios settings...maybe you should also get XP to synchronize when you are on the net, and update the atomic clock automatically.

I would have thought that if it was setting it back randomly it was the bios. Does it set it back during work, or when you boot up it doesn't seem to be correct then. If it's the latter definately check the Battery and/or replace (Bios battery that is)

Cheers...hope this helps

CBradshaw...

I did think it might be the Bios, this is the second laptop it's happend on.... We sent the other off for repair with Tosh so awaiting there responce..

It changes the clock wile working on the laptop...

I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and weather it might have been a problem with XP..

thanks for the suggestions ;O)

cheers

In that case it is definately not the Bios battery. If it is changing it during the work environment. Check the Synchronization options in the Time and Date section of the Control Panel. Make sure it is set to the correct Time Zone for a start. Click the Synchronize Now button. See if this helps.

Cheers

I've set up the sync with the internet....

Just have to sit back and see how that goes...

Thanks for your help ;O)

cheers
