some questions...
1. Path.. if you type cld at DOS prompt does help text of debugger display or do you get an error message?
2. Does the same program with debug go into debug on a different pc but not on this one?
3. If you were to bootup this pc to DOS, then run debug, does it work?

zmilan, contrary to the posting by gastrada, I and my work associates run cld (debug) from windowed sessions on a daily basis. We use win95 and win98. I believe your problem is either in the PATH settings or in how your linking of the executable is configured.
