Basic question here. After inserting clip Art into a Word XP document I find that the object box sometimes shows the picture/artwork and other times it does not. That is my first question.

Second, if I select the clipart object and right click and select Edit the object tags and border changes to editing capabilities. How do I return it to the non-editing look?

Thank you.

Hi Bob,

I do not know the answer to your first question - it's one of Word's great mysteries, there doesn't seem to be any consistency.

As for the second, you shoud have an "Edit Picture" Toolbar with a "Close Picture" button. If not, you can use <Ctrl><)> (right parenthesis) or use File > Close and Return to Document, or just press the [tt]X[/tt] at the top right of the window.

Enjoy,
Tony
