I am at a clients office, her HP NX9010 laptop started going slow last week. I can log into the network and surf the net, but there are no network connections showing under network neigborhood. The accounting application that normally takes 3 seconds to load, is now taking about 30. SP2 had activated the windows firewall, when I went to customize the settings it told me that the configuration was corrupted. Uninstalled SP2, no change. Tried to reinstall the NIC adapter driver, no change. Short of restoring the hard drive, what are my options?

Thanks,

James D. Howard

Try repairing the Winsock settings.
