Our internet runs over the router from a t1 into a proxy server (totally seperate pc). Somehow the 2000 server is picking up the internet from the router and bypassing the proxy. When a client connects to the server they are getting the internet too through being logged into the domain! How can i have the server stop letting the clients have access to the internet? Anybody else have this problem?

It depends on your network configuration. But one way could be not giving out any other information other than IP addresses in your DHCP service; like for example removing the gateway address , DNS address, etc. A+, MCP, CCNA

I'd say leave the DNS entries in DHCP. The Gateway, if set, is more likely the problem.

Are you not wanting them access to the internet at all? Remove the default gateway maybe? Glen A. Johnson

1) check your server settings, if the internet connection sharing is enable or not. disable it.

2) configure your Proxy server need 2 nic cards,1 connected to your router, and 1 for private ip address, where all workstations and server reside.
it will guarantee your workstations will use the proxy server to go to internet.

3) put firewall and configure access list so only proxy server traffic can go to the internet.
