hi everybody,
today i got a different problem for you firewall admins and supporters!
ok, here comes the framework:
I'm trying to connect my Laptop (SuSE Linux 9.0 Pro) to my companies vpn gateway (somewhat a watchguard firebox, don't know exactly) trough my Linux-Router.
When establishing the connection with winxp pro, everything works fine, so i guess my routers config is ok.
when trying to set up a link between my laptop and the firebox via pptp, i am able to authenticate myself to it, i even get an ip. routes, ip and netmask seem ok, as i was able to compare to the (working) windows configuration. but when i try to transfer any type of date through the tunnel, it appears to be a black hole... all i get is the following debug info:
unknown protocol type 0x2145
now, on the pptp-linux site, the FAQ says it might be a compression or key length problem. but still,
after getting feedback from the network manager and changing the terms to appropiate values, i get the same error.
now, for my question:
has anyone got this or a similar constelation to work? anyone connected linux to a watchguard firebox?
greetings from germany,
