hi all
I am a new user for veritas netbackup 4.5 and I have a question I was hoping you guys could help me out with.

I wish to connect one of the servers that is on a different subnet mask. I cannot ping(rather I don;t know how to) that computer also from the solaris machine that has the administrative console, But the previous administrator was able to do so by configuring the client and using bpclient command to add its(client's) entry on the master server machine,

Note; the previous administrator is not reachable at the moment
the administrative console is on the master server (solaris 8)
and the netbackup client is installed on Solaris 2.6

You should only make it possible for the two machines (server and client) to ping each other. If they are using different subnet masks, then defining a gateway IP for each should be enough.

thanks estech25

I will definitely try it out and let you know the result
