Hello. It would be great help if someone knew how to resolve this problem:
Does anyone know what causes XP to be so slow during network applications? While Windows 98 run fine with the same application?
Details:
I am running Delphi frontend SQL application that connects to an SQL 2000 server. Server is Dual Xeon 3.0, 2.0GB RAM, 72Gig RAID5 running on Windows 2003.
When I am using an XP Pro SP2 machine to access the database, it is super slow. When I type anything, the display doesn't even catch up. Other network applications, eg: Internet Explorer work fine on the XP machines.
The clients are Pentium 4, 3.0Ghz with 512MB RAM.
When I run the application on any Windows 98 machines it is normal speed.
I know for a fact that it has something to do with the network in XP or 2003 Server. I tried to remove the QoS service, ran Ad-Adware, Spy-Bot and nothing helps. Help! I have a staff of 60 breathing down my back.
