Here is the situation, the company I work for has a real estate dept only thing is they use different company names depending on what part of the country they are dealing with. They have been using cell phones to call people that they don't want to know where they are calling from but now would like to be able to dial out from their office phone, with one ext. that serves this purpose that is on each of their phones. When you dial out now the main billing # comes across and the co attaches the name of the company, this is what they want to prevent the ideal goal is to have just a # come across or "unavailable". Any ideas on how this could be accomplished would be appreciated. We do everything ext. related but do have a limited # of DID's that ride the local PRI's. I have a limited knowledge on the Meridian which is an option 61c rls. 25. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the calling party privacy feature.

This can be activated on a call by call basis.

I'd really check this out if the CO is "appending" your CLID info.

Program a trunk route to insert the Telco feature code to block caller ID before every call going out that route.

Keep in mind that as of yesterday, there is a law requiring telemarketers to send their number or name with the call. Depending on the type of calls they are making, that group may fall under that requirement.

Also keep in mind that 'name' is retrieved by the receiving end. If you arrange with your DID provider to put different names with specific DID's, you could then send that DID number and have the desired name pop up (if name is available in the receiving area)
