click url opens "locate link in browser" window

When I click on a URL in a message in Outlook (2003) instead of IE opening the web page a window opens titled "locate link in browser" with the file types set as Executable Files.
What setting have I to change to just open the IE browser window?

Found the problem. Firefox had been uninstalled and left the link association stranded. Went to Win Explorer | Tools | Folder Options | File Types and set HTM and HTML file types tp p[en with IE.
