Click on address opens a miriad I-Explorer windows

In Outlook Express, as I clicked on a hyperlink email address in a received message, expecting a Reply To behaviour, this isntead caused a miriad of Internet Explorer windowes to be opened and displayed as blank windows.

Any idea what could be the cause?

Was this a message from someone you know? First, make sure your virus scanner is up to date and that you have all the security patches from MS. Then, with the message open, press CTRL+F3. This will open a window that shows the source code. Look in the 'Content-Type: text/html' section for the '<A href = ......> stuff. Somewhere will be the text that you clicked on and the link to where you actually went.
