Hi

I have a client in ISDN30 in the UK that on outgoing calls only presents the main bearer number number unless I add a lower case i the the .S

ie

?
dial
.Si01234567890

the docs say 'sets the calling party number plan to ISDN and number type to National',
does anyone know if this can be turned on by default?

Thanks for your help

Robb

I don't fully understand your question.

What are you trying to achieve?

If you have a continous range of DDI, this is what I use on ISDN30:

(Example)
Extn: 301-399
Main number: 222 66 300

SC: ? / Dial / .S22266E

(You might need the 'i', after the 'S')

Kind regards

Gunnar

Hi thanks for your replies

I'm trying to avoid creating a dial shortcode for every user, as there extensions don't match the ddi.

Thanks

Robb

Then make the extn match the DDI.

Kind regards

Gunnar

Right, but as long as the provider isnt over riding your CLOP / CLIP then the IPO by default will present the users DDI if programmed on the ICR. So dont have any number presentation dial short codes, and it should just work.

the only way individual number presentation only works on this line is if it shortcode is set to

?
dial
.Si<phone number>

with the S and the i in the telephone number field.

Robb

How many extn are we talking about here?

Kind regards

Gunnar

I know it seems a small issue for one site, but this customer has 10 sites, and is going to request ( in BT speak) callerid 3-5 for all sites, which enables then to present any outgoing caller id for mobile twinning.

and I can see this being more widely used as people realise you can now request any number presentation with BT.

Robb

what does SSA show you its sending when you dial without using the short codes?

remove the main system dial short code too.

It shows the default callerid for that user, the 'i' in the shortcode changes the presentation to National instead of unknown do you know if it is possible to set National presentation as default on a UK ip Office.

Robb

program you incoming call routes correctly.

put the full 11 digit uk number in the incoming number field not just the 6 digits of ddi presentation

depending on the BT exchange you may also need to an i to these numbers (either as a prefix or a postfix it doesn't matter)
the IPO will automatically send a users 1st DDI as its personal CLI

No need for any user shortcodes

This is the crucial imformation.

You have requested type 3 or 5 CLI release. For this to work, BT require the CLI to be the full 10 digit and Public/National format. I don't know if they've documented that to you - but the i in the shortcode is how set that up.

As far as I know, there is now way you can force the numberplan to National by default. However, you might get some mileage by setting the inbound DDI to thefull 10 digit and then using a sc ?/.Si/dial

I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone.
My wish has come true. I no longer know how to use my telephone.

Ahh you can use the 'i' on the incoming call route as well, that's great, trying it now. big thanks for the solution IPGuru. star for everyone. your help is really appreciated.

Also, here I use .s instead of .S
Small difference that shows it doesn't matter.

Test your CLIP the IP Office is attempting to present by running the Call>Targeting filter in monitor.

I didn't know it either until one of my customers found it :)
