Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to clear the "cache" if u like of the windows search feature. if I type in a random letter it brings up the whole file name I have searched for previously. I want this information cleared if possible?

Can't find a way to do it.

Cheers

If memory serves, TweakUI offers the ability to clear this at login.
It can be found here.

Hi mate.

Yes, looks like you were right, but I can't run the program as it has been "disabled by your administrator" oh well...back to the drawing board.

1. Turn off Auto Complete in Internet Options, Content
2. Use regedit and see if this key exists:
Stop all Windows Explorer sessions.
Navigate to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant\ACMru registry subkey.
Select and delete each subkey under ACMru, or simply delete the entire ACMru subkey.
Close the registry editor.
Log off and log on before performing new searches; otherwise,it will recreate the search cache and store the recreated cache in memory.

Bcastner, many thanks yet again, done the trick basically. Top man. :D
