I have a report with an embedded form that asks the user for an account number. After they enter the number, they click on the Preview Button to see the report. If they enter an invalid number, they will get a message box telling them to re-enter the number. What I want is for the field to empty out when the error occurs, so that all they have to do is rekey without deleting the incorrect number first. How do I do that?
Thanks,
Gladys

Why not change the textbox to a combobox and set it's rowsource to the table and field that has the valid account numbers. If necessary, you can change the query this rowsource is based on to a totals query grouping by this field to insure the account number is only displayed once. Set limit to list to true and you needn't worry about them entering an invalid account number. On top of that, your users will love you because they need only type a few characters of the account number in many cases before the one they want shows up in the list.

Jerry, you're the greatest! Thanks.
