'lo all,

I've been asked to clean up a friend of a friends PC, which has taken to running slower than normal - so I've been compiling a CD of programs that I can run to check for viruses, Spyware, general rubbish - and wondered if you had any comments of the few I had added, and if you'd recommend anything else:

So far, I have:

- CCleaner

- Ad-Aware

- AVG

Although he currently runs McAfee, so I'm not sure if I should leave that running (although experience with Norton suggests that commercial virus programs can slow down a computer quite a lot)

I'm also looking for a good spam-blocker for him, free is always nice...

Thanks for any help

I just removed the free McAfee Spam Blocker. It was too complex and I write programs.

It needs a level of understanding - I use the SpamAssaasin at my ISP and amd changing my main e-mail address slowly.

Get it wrong ands the spammers know you exist.
