Not only is a system type required but if I understand your question correctly, you are lloking for a free ride on programming COS for your system.
If I could get away with it I would probably take short cuts too.
What you're asking for represents years of fine tuning and effort. My COS's are taylored for my needs and probably would not survive translation into a system not completely set up to accomodate them.
