Hi,

i going to separate the tables in my database into two different databases. I'm doing this for internal db maintainence. All I need to know now is whether this will in anyway affect the SPEED factor when I execute queries linking the tables from the two different db. Someone, Please clarify me on this.

with rgds,

Why not just create another filegroup for your database, and put the tables on the two different filegroups. If the filegroups are on different drives, you may even have an increase in performance. Each filegroup can be backed up independtly of the other.

The query linking two tables from different databases shouldn't perform much differently than a query linking two tables in the same database. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA
