Does anyabody has any information regarding setting up a CTI Link with a CLAN ? Im currently running my CTI with the MAP-D, but I was wondering if i could make the same requests/responses through the CLAN.

Thanks in advanced :)

mfalomir,

to set up cti link through c-lan, you need 'co-resident dlg' license opened on your switch, besides ordinary asai or cti adjunct links licenses. the only thing map-d board does is hosting dlg (and/or cvlan) software. in newer switches, this software can be co-resident with the main software on the processor, thus eliminating the need for map-d. but it is licensed, as i said, and it is supported on s8x00 series starting with cm1.3, and on g3csi/g3si starting with cm2. it is not supported on g3r. note that this feature has some limitations by itself, for example it can host only dlg software not cvlan -- and if you need cvlan you will need external server. though if you're using avaya ct package you already should have external server and you can surely use it with co-res dlg.

I have a Definity Prologix G3 V12 :) with no Co-Res DLG support :) So I guess I'll keep on my MAP-D. Currently we are using our CLANs (2) for IP Telephony, so there is no other way for CLAN interaction if there is no CoRes DLG ? :)

Thanks for your help!

mfalomir,

if you have cm2 software load then it supports co-res dlg. only thing you should do is to purchase a license for it. this license doesn't cost too much and definitely it's cheaper than map-d that hums, screeches its hdd and eats up three priceless circuit pack slots in your small prologix. :) but seriously, csi processor is not too hot regarding computing power and has its limitations so if you have significant cti load you should leave map-d working as it is. :)

So , its just a matter of licenses. So using MAP-D is more convenient when the load is kinda heavy ?

Thanks dwalin! :)
