I will be implementing ip phones on my network shortly, when i plug my clan port into my HP managed switch the connection drops every 10 seconds, but when I plug it into a cheap hub it works fine. Is there a way to set the clan port to half duplex or is there a setting that could fix this problem. I don't want to change the setting on my HP switch because I would like to keep it uniform. BTW this is a IP600 v10. Thanks.

The clan boards only run at 10mbit half duplex. So I'm pretty sure you have a negotiation problem on the HP switch, sorry, but you're going to have to manually adjust it in the ethernet switch...

Yes I have the 799DP CLAN card, and I am pretty sure you can set it to 100mbs because there is a 100mbs link light on the card. I will give it a try today. Thank-you for your help!

ahh, cool, didn't know they upped the link on the V10 card, i don't understand why they didn't do that in the first place, same way with them putting hubs in the IP phones, bleh....

good info

The new IP phones have a ethernetswitch instead of a hub, and there are deststands available for the old that have a ethernetswitch inside Please let me know if the information that was provided is helpfull.
