Citrix Updates

I'm looking for the steps used to check the version (revision) of my Citrix. I know that it's MetaFrame XPs Feature Release 3. Is there a way to see which if any patches have been applied? Is there a guide that will describe how to fetch and apply new patches.

Hi,

You can use mfadmin.exe (Citrix Server Administration) highlight your servers and go through the list looking at the Information Tab. This will tell you:-
OS
Version/SP Level
Installation Date
Citrix Version/SP Level
New Logons
Hotfixes installed

When you need updates, i.e. new feature releases you check on MyCitrix.com with your companies logon credentials to get license codes for the new FR. Service Packs don't require Subscription Advantage, but to be entitled to new Feature Releases you need SA.

If you don't know if you have SA and you don't have logon credentials for MyCitrix.com you can call Citrix Customer Care who can tell you what you own from the license keys that are currently installed.

The Citrix Server Administrator is not intended for use with MetaFrame XP servers, only for legacy Citrix servers. MFXP servers are managed with the CMC (Citrix Management Console).

CMC -> Servers -> Right Click Server -> Properties -> Hotfixes

CMC -> Servers -> Right Click Server -> Properties -> Information (for SP & FR Level)

This is true, however, I find Citrix Server Admin far superior and quicker than CMC. It's a Java piece of Poo...

In my opinion ;-) And my sulk that Citrix don't seem to be updating it :-(

Thanks guys, I see both utilities and will try to work with the more recent one.

I'm able to go on mycitrix.com. I don't have the subscription advantage, but that may not be an issue right now because I'm at FR3. Still, I don't see where anything might apply to my version of Citrix. I see downloads for Secure Gateway, "MOM", and MF Secure Access Manager. Does MF XPs have a alternate nominclature? Or is it possible that FR3 was so good out of the box that it doesn't have any updates to download? Thanks, CR
