Darragh, if you are using XPe, then you already have "some" limited management capabilities built into the Resource Manager (RM). If you are using XPa or XPs, then I would recommend a product called SysTrack 3.0 from Lakeside Software to collect the following types of information:
Inventory, User Session history including application usage and websites/pages they've visited, Application performance, detailed troubleshooting information, system and application availablilty, etc. This product also comes with over 750 built-in reports and a utility to allow you create your own.
