I have a number of published applications on XPa Feature Release 1. Of these one will not launch. The error appearring is as follows:

"ApplicationName" failed to start.

The Citrix server is unable to process your request to start this published application. Please try again. If the problem persist, contact your administrator."

The thing is that the application will launch on the Citirx server successfully.

I have checked the license count and it is not that. The event logs do not give any information.

Any ideas.

Double check that the configuration points to the correct program file. In some cases when software upgrades are done, the name of the executable change (because, for some reason ... the company that produces the program wants to change it).

If that is the case, then your scenario would seem logical. The program (when started from the program shortcut on the server) will work, but when you try to launch the published application (which has the filepath to the old executable filename) it will fail.

This is just a theory but try the following:
1) Right-click your published application and choose properties
2) Double-check that the configuration of the published application is pointing at a valid executable name (if you are uncertain, you can compare the path given in the published application with the path in the programs shortcut on the servers desktop
