Hi

We have a MF1.8 server which is located at our main office, and we have two satellite depots which connect to the Citrix server over a VPN.

Neither of the remote sites has a LAN DNS server.

One of the users has a locally attached HP Deskjet 1220C printer, which no other users can connect to.

The workgroup that all users belong to at this remote site is not available for browsing at the main office.

I assume that the only way to enable all users at the remote site to connect to this printer is to hang it off a print server with a fixed IP and point Citrix to that address.

Before I do this, I would like to ask if there is any other way to allow all users at the remote site to connect to this printer while it is locally attached to a client machine?

If the user who has the printer attached establishes a Citrix connection, the printer session that will be created will be accessible to everyone by default. If the other users connect and need to print, they could choose to print to this printer. I don't know if this what you want to do though. Like you said if there is only going to be one printer for this environment, it is preferable that you setup a network printer that will be setup as the default Citrix printer.

You could share the printer at the remote site and have all users connect to it this way they all have a "local" printer installed when connecting to Citrix.

I've successfully done this with Metaframe XP 1.0
