Let me start by stating that I have no Citrix training and am open for any good books to help me learn this as well....

I work for a company that is using Citrix. Our server is located in officeA. When doing a custom setting, those machines that are located in the officeA can see the published apps when going through the wizard.

When we try to access them from offices other then officeA, we can not see them and have to add each program, 1 by 1. It will find the public server IP and allow for us to set it up that way, but will not see the published apps as they can in officeA.

Agian, I'm new to Citrix and if you need more information, please let me know and I will provide what I can.

thanks,
Tom

How are the clients accessing, is it via Program Neighbourhood ?

If it is then you need to put in a server address for the Server when creating the Application set.

Click server location button and add in the relevant details. ARe there any routes/firewalls in the way ?

they are accessing it through PN.

I have added all the data needed but it does not resolve the published app's. for example, we have each of the MS office programs set as a published app(word, excel, ppoint, access). for the local users we can use FIND NEW APPLICATION SET and they can see all of the programs. When we try this in the remote offices, it does not allow it and we have to go through custom settings to set up each one.

When I click on the server location button, it opens a seprate screen looking for the prop's. it is all greyed out and has a check in the use default. I removed this check and applied the following settings.
Protocol- TCP/IP
Server group-Primary
address list- change it to our public IP address (I have also tried it with the local address, same results).
Firewall settings- only thing checked is under proxy setting. there is a check for none(direct connection).
click ok

I then return to the main ICA custom connection screen.
From here I try the drop down menu under server name/published applications and get the following error
~~"The ICA browser did not return any server names. YOu can enter server addresses in the address list for the aplication set if there are no metaframe presentation server computers in your local subnet.""~~

there is a firewall and router in place.

thanks for the help!!!

What is opened on the firewall.

I have had situations where I can enter the name of the farm in the drop down and it will work. You have to close and reopen pn though.

I'll have to check and see. This was a task handed to me on my 3rd day of employeement and as stated before, no Citrix training. I have no clue what we have open on the firewall. I will check tomorrow when I get in and see, then get back to everyone one.

thanks,
BTW---any good books?
