Citrix Presentation Manager 3.0. We are using Citrix across a WAN and wish to deploy hardware accelerators to some sites and not others. Does anyone know how to turn Citrix compression off for some sites but not all? We know how to turn it on for all or off for all but not just for some ....
Thanks

I am not if you can turn it of on a Site Specific basis.

Why would you want to turn it off anyway. The ICA Compression is very efficient and from investigation none of the compression devices available can better the compression ratio it acheives.

Instead of compression have you looked at proper bandwidth management (PacketShapers) which provide a better end result overall?

Agreed, but they cost some plenty earth cash.

We implement a lot for our clients and if they are done right the intial capital investment is recovered within 12 months of clever bandwidth management as you can usually reduce the required amount of bandwidth or prevent bandwidth increases.

In this scenario if there is going to be an investment in compression technology anyway they two are often of a similar cost but there are greater benefits from the PacketShapers.....

I know what you mean though - its still cash to spend.

I agree they are brilliant, again a function of money as to what your really need.

Many thanks one and all. Can anyone tell me the best (and easiest!) place to get some further information on PacketShapers? It would be appreciated.

JD,

What specifically do you want to know about them?

We put a lot in for our clients and have been through most of the scenarios before so i may be able to provide you with some insight.

Me too, though more for fault finding rather than shaping.
