We are running MetaFrame 1.8 on Windows 2000 Server. The problems is that none of our (thin) client machines are able to hear sound. The users would like to hear wav files. The Citrix servers and appliances are configured correctly to enable sound and when I look at the installed codecs in the Sounds and Multimedia Control Panel applet, all I see is Microsoft PCM Converter. I believe I need other codecs installed, like the Citrix Audio Codec. Does anyone have any idea on what codecs are needed and how to install them. I'm considering reinstalling the Multimedia Accessories under Add/Remove, but not to sure if this is the fix. Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi,

Don't do it! Citrix is pants for sound (and multimedia!).

I remove MultiMedia from my build but add back the player only. I can then play wav files.

However, as my first statement, it's pants! I disable audio whenever I create a published application and rename all my wav files to old. So that they can't be found and attempted to be played!

Hope this helps,
Carl.

Ogi,
How do I remove all MultiMedia from my build?
Citrix MF XP on Win2ksp4.

Thanks!

Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs | Windows Setup.

Cheers,
Carl.
