I faught my way through many postings here but didn't find any helpful article or FAQ (Maybe this has something to do with the keyword-search currently disabled?).
Anyway: I'm using the Cisco 1760 as DSL-Router with NAT and Firewall. Within my company's LAN an Exchange2003-server is running, fetching eMails from an outside (internet) mailserver. What i'd like to do is to use ETRN on this outside mailserver which "pushes" mails onto my LAN Exchange-server instead of letting it fetch the mails.
For that purpose the Cisco requires to know, what machine (e.g. IP-address) to forward incoming traffic on port 25.
I tried out a static route, but that didn't work, except from the fact that the LAN-mailserver was not reachable from inside the LAN anymore.
What i think that i have to do is, that the Exchange-server in my LAN should be put into a DMZ - or more likely a Portforwarding that automatically moves all inbound traffic on port 25 (SMTP) to my LAN-mailserver. And this is where i'm stuck for days now. Two books and several sites in the web couldn't help me with this. Most of them only explain, that there is a possibility to move a machine into a DMZ, but none explains how this could be done.
Thanks in advantage for any helping answer
