I need to connect Symbol MC-9090G barcode readers via wireless LAN (802.11) to a Cisco 1130 access point.

I have two Symbol readers of this model which work, two other ones, purchased later, do not work. They can reach the internet if I just go on wireless LANs (so all network hardware plus software works), but as soon as I try to get into the access points it is not working.
The Symbol wireless log says Using profile ..., selecting country ID ..., setting SSID, and then it says: State: Unauthenticated.

So it looks like it would be an authentication problem.
Except the config seems very identical to the two working readers. I need some hints where to look.

I'll describe what was done already, and what are some of the things I would like to understand to get a grip on this thing.

I have updated the Windows CE version on the reader to 5.0, and it is not using the older Spectrum 24 software (the working clients do use Spectrum 24), but "Fusion".

Questions are:
1. The AP uses LEAP authentication. Where is the password for that being stored in the client (Symbol reader)?
On the working ones I never set up a password but on the AP there is one.

2. I find user name entries in the show-running config entries in the Cisco AP, they are MAC addresses but have a password (secret, i.e. hash). If I want to create a new user name /passw identification, how do I do this?
The existing entries are like:
user XXXXX secret 5 YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
I know there is a mac-address authentication but what would the password be, is there a default? The Cisco Access Point does have a password entry in each of the user name entries, and there is no mac-authentication list.
The MAC addresses listed in the Cisco AP are correct.

3. IPConfig /all in a Cmd window gave error message "no IPv4 adapter found". I corrected this with NDISCONFIG utility to associate TCPIP with the wireless network card, but still no connection. Could there be more set up missing? In NDISCONFIG there is talk about miniports, do I need to do sth with this?

4. I tried to log in with the client with some of the open password combinations (not the ones stored as secret hash but open ones like: user ZZZZZ password 7 BBBBBBB
But none of them give me any connection.
Could indicate it is not really the username/passw which is the problem. Any idea where it could be related to?

5. The wireless network adapter is called "Fusion Isotope PC Card / Photon". I have set it to use static IP addresses like the other clients I have. In the Symbol MC-9090G Windows CE control panel of all the possible connections. When I click on this PCCard/Photon adapter and select ENABLE, it does NOT enable. I can keep clicking Enable, it just does not stay enabled.

Anyone has any data? Please full data, I have worked already for days on this.

Regards
