Hello,

Ive got a Cisco 878 SDSL Router at the head office, and 3 branch offices with Cisco 857 ADSL routers. My question is can I connect the branch offices to the head office via a VPN using the SDM (Easy VPN Server?)

Am unsure if I need to write a config myself, or if the SDM is clever enough to help me as I've never tried this before...

Thanks,
Adrian

If all branches have a static IP address then I would setup a full time IPSEC VPN connection between the branches and not use easy VPN server/client. SDM is good to use as a guide. Seem to remember that it tried to use SHA instead of the stronger MD5 when setting up a VPN connection. There may be other tweaks but it will get you in the ballpark. If the ADSL sites are dynamic addresses then you will need the VPN server/client setup. When the ISP recycles the IP addresses the VPN will have to rebuild with the new address possibly causing momentary disconnects. Static IP addressing is best for VPN connections.
