Even when I'm not using it the Cisco VPN client seems to be generating a lot of network activity. Is it normal?
When I connect using it then it works OK. But I need to use it infrequently, about once a month.
However, whenever I switch on my machine (Windows XP) it attempts to contact the internet DNS approx once every second for the whole time, even if there is no live connection.
I got suspicious looking at the connection stats showing sent/received bytes over a few hours and considering what I thought I had used. Then I got Zone Alarm to block it and was astonished at how persistent it was.
Any suggestions or comments?
