I just setup VPN on my asa 5510. I'm using a preshared key...I setup the ip range, told it to bypass existing access policies, acl's, etc...But my cisco VPN client keeps getting disconnected (reason 412). Connection Entry is similar to a description correct? I am using group authentication....Not to sure what else you need to know...I am a newb at setting up VPN routers and clients so I really appreciate your help.

Are you using a Cisco VPN client to connect to your asa5510? I is either one of the following...

In the client under the "options" there is a check beside "Stafulfiewall(Always on)". Remove the check

or

Modify the group you configured and on the transport tab select IPsec over TCP instead of UDP.

Alright, thanks for the advice...I cant wait to try that out when I get back to the office monday. I'll let you know what happens..
Thanks
