Hi All,

I have a CISCO LAN environment consisting of 6 Catalst switches with two core 4006s all connected via 1Gb/s fibre using 802.1q trunking. As my user desktop environment is on VLAN194 (not VLAN1) I cannot telnet to the switches' sc0 interface for management purposes. Can anyone tell me what the standard procedure is for management from a non VLAN1 environment without having to use a dedicated machine sitting on VLAN1.

Thanks for any help,
Rob.

you can change the sc0 interface to vlan 194

or you can use a router to route between vlans
