[morning]What kind of warranty does a Cisco 2900 series switch come with? I just joined a company that has a shelf of non-functioning (various problems) 2900 series switches. I recently had another fail, and I struggled to find one to configure and use as a replacement.

Someone here told me that if I send them into Cisco, they will be replaced with a refurbished model? Is this true? Where do I send them, or who do I contact? Do I need to have a hardware contract with Cisco on them?

I got the answer to my own question(s)[2thumbsup]. No, you do not need an active service / hardware contract with Cisco on the units to get them replaced. That is, if they are still supported and under warranty (mine were). You just call 1-800-553-2447 and provide the serial numbers of the troubled units. I believe you can also do it on-line at
I was told that I can expect the replacement units within 10 days, at which time I can return the troubled units in the same packaging.
