Hi,

I have just purchased a Pix 501 for use in my network.
At present I have a Netgear DG834G ADSL Wireless Router and need to keep this for my ADSL connection and Wireless LAN.
My question is what is the most secure setup for this environment when implementing my PIX.

Netgear DG834G (with wireless LAN)

Internal LAN

I have 2 public IP addresses available to use.
My thoughts are to assign the first public IP to the DG834G and switch off DHCP and NAT.
Then assign the second public IP address and enable DHCP and NAT on the PIX.
I am concerned about the wireless connectivity and security as the DG834G is 'in front' of the PIX.
Is there any way to keep my Wireless clients connected and secure even though they are 'in front' of the PIX?

I really do not want to have purchase a seperate 'ADSL router' to go in front and 'Wireless Access Point' to sit behind the pix but if this is the only
option then so be it.

Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

...let me get this started..

..does that dg834g have the capability to nat that second ip address to pix?..
...hmmmm 1st things comes to mind is put that access point behind the pix..do vpn through wireless router to pix for the best wireless security...

...i dont think you have many choices..just what sits behind that pix will be more secure...
