Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm a Cisco newbie - struggling with a pair of 803s that I need ultimately to use for remote access to a LAN on another site.
To get a feel for setups/IOS, I tried to use FastStep to setup one 803 for simple Internet access. It goes so far then says ISP access failed. I know the ISDN links are OK -FastStep test the links OK (link light on 803 illuminates) also I've tested them via the console, and the username/password/number is correct.
Then I tried ConfigMaker. Even less success. It loaded the config, but IE doesn't see the router, and no links are activated.
Questions:
-Does anyone have a config file for 803s to do simple internet access?
-Anything I need to do to point IE at the router?
-Should I let the 803 do DHCP?
-What IP address should I give for DNS server questions>
Current config:
PC at 192.168.0.50 but also tried with DHCP
Router assigned IP address 192.168.0.100
ISP is BT Openworld (UK), using CHAP
Help! - any ideas?
