Hi,

Approx 1 year ago, I made the transition from Software development into Network Administration. Im looking at gaining some certifications, and think that Cisco certification will be of great help.

Id prefer to setup a hardware based lab as opposed to using software. Can anyon someone please tell me what kit Id need to buy in order to setup a test lab to aid me in my studies.

Regards.

Depends on which track you will be going down. Voice will be different from LAN switching and WAN switching.

It is what it is!!

Rather than purchasing loads of equipment I downloaded the BOSON Router simulator.

It is a very good piece of software and lets you emulate entire WAN's and you can design your own networks.

The cost I think is around $200 - $250, much cheaper than buying loads of routers and switches.

Anyway, have a look at the site and see what you think.
