cisco ios and boot flash

Hello all,

May someone please tell me the difference between IOS and boot flash. Do i have to upgrade my boot flash when i upgrade my ios.

you don't have too.. but i would get both images and upgrade them both.

No leave the bootflash alone , it is basically the memory where the IOS is stored for when you boot up . Just get the image you want and tftp it to bootflash: .

You can't upgrade bootflash anyway other than to buy more , which would give you more storage for any larger image that wouln't fit on your current setup .
