I have passed my CCNA exam and I would like to take the
642-522 exam. My initial goal is to get the Cisco Firewall Specialist certification and then possibly the CCSP. I currently do not work with Cisco Pix firewalls at my current job, but I do have two Cisco Pix 501 for my home lab. I am hearing that the new exam covers ASA devices and Pix version 7.0 which the 501 will not run, and I cannot afford to purchase a 515E. I would like to hear some advice how to go about preparing for and taking this exam?

Thanks,
Marcus

My advise is to learn the 501 as much as possible and then read the 7.0 manual along with the Pix Firewall and ASA handbook put out by cisco. The little things on the Pix are done differently now but if you learn what you got and the architecture of packetflow then you should be good to go.
