Cisco confreg error

Hi , i wanted to reset a cisco 827 ,
i went to rommon 1 , typed by mistake :
confreg 0x121 (instead of 0x142) ,
now i get when i boot all kind of charecters , cant break it anymore anyway to reset it ?

Try power cycling your router and within the first 60 Seconds press the "Break" key to boot into Rom monitor.

then, type "confreg 0x2142" or "confreg 0x142" and "reset" to boot to flash without loading the config in NVRAM.


I think that you might have entered a reserved memory location.

Sorry, I missed the part where you had already tried breaking out.

I don't have any ideas. I didn't see anything on Cisco's site that mentioned recovering from this type of problem.

Your console should still be at 9600. However, that tool doesn't do 800 series routers, so I'm not sure that it applies.

Since your getting junk, you may want to just start trying different speeds, etc.

i already tried to break it when it comes up but nothing

reseted some jumpers , but same story
