Does anyone know how does these two firewall / vpn compares. Which offer better performance and management.

Thanks

I've used Cisco routers already. But currently we are using Checkpoint as our firewall. I just want to hear some feedback on Juniper stuff.

It really based off of what your requirements are. Ive used btoh firewalls. I can say that if I could but a ASA or Junper I would buy the ASA 100 times out of 100.

Management is great. The command are easy, The new ASDM is great also. Juniper has tried to make there OS easy (looks alot like Cisco). Juniper is probably best configured from the GUI. CLI is possible but I have to say that sometimes the basic stuff doesnt make much sense.

Troubleshooting it much easier on ASA than Juniper. The Policy based ASA is easy to read on a show run and understand whats going on.

Performance comparison depends on what your requirements are.

If you have Cisco Router experience, The ASA is not far off. I can guarantee you will never regret buying an ASA.

Also the juniper support is much lower than cisco.
