Hi,

I'm having some difficulty getting my ADSL to stay trained on an ADSL card in my cisco router. Just wondering if anyone could give me some assistance.

I'll paste the logs, it does train up but I'm unable to keep it up for more than a few seconds. I also have to use PPPoE, so that could be the problem. I know the circuit itself works, as it trains on other ADSL modems. Any ideas you have would be greatly appreciated.

I'll include quite a bit of stuff - let me know if I can add anything else! Thanks again!
Varian

I think you encapsultion in your atm int should be like this.

interface ATM0.1 point-to-point
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
pvc 8/35
pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1

This is my sub int for a pppoe connection. I have on connection using pppoa. So you may want to check with your provider to see which one they're using. Also make sure the numbers are right vc\vpi bc of the debug output below

Changing vc 0/35vc-state to ATM_VC_NOT_IN_SERVICE.

My pppoa connection is using 0/35, but that doesn't meanit's not pppoe.

0 packets input, 0 bytes, 0 no buffer
0 packets output, 0 bytes, 0 underruns
This is from your atm int. If you have packets incrementing on the input, your communicating w/ the isp.
If you have packets in and out you connection is stable. Well something to that nature.

If you have connection to the isp your inpuut packet will
keep going up,

Hi,

I tried as you suggested, I've added:

interface ATM0.1 point-to-point
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
pvc 0/35
pppoe-client dial-pool-number 1

I also checked with ISP, it is 0/35 and PPPoE - however they did say that any PPP might work.

I also tried changing the dsl operating-mode from auto to both ansi-dmt and itu-dmt:
ansi-dmt ANSI full rate mode
auto auto detect mode
itu-dmt ITU full rate mode

They either way they had the same output:

Did you know you atm int is shutdown. That dial-
