Cisco 8831 - Conference Station - Not Registering

Hi all,

I have a problem with a new Cisco 8831 conference station I have bought. The device tries to register, picks up an IP address but fails when trying to load the firmware.

I looked in call manager and noticed it didn't have the device listed. So I went onto Cisco's site and downloaded the device pack for the 8831 and uploaded it to CM. I then restarted the TFTP service on all CM servers in the cluster and still the same problem.

I am being advised to restart the CM service on each node to get this working or re-boot the cluster. Is this advise right as it seems a bit drastic to get a new device firmware to be recognised.

Any help appreciated.

Cluster Version is 8.5
 
The pub should be your only TFTP server unless you are running it on something out of cluster. Did you upload the firmware to the Pub?
 
after you have the correct load in place, you will have to build the first one "manually" and enter the MAC, in future you can use the copy procedures, just adding the MAC and name/phone number. You should be able to use most of the settings from other phones on your system.
 
When you install a new device PAK that is NOT on your current system, you have to restart your CUCM/s, every single one! Schedule yourself a maintenance window my friend. TFTP restart is only used when the device is already in existance and your just upgrading firmware.
 
And just to add. If your looking to upgrade your CUCM to 9.1(2), the firmware for this device is included in the upgrade image.
