I just set up a cisco 851w router. I handle the DNS for my domains internally, as well as my web server, etc. I can access my web sites by internal IP addy only. For whatever reason, it's not allowing me to type in the domains to view the pages. However, everyone else can see my domains that are not behind my router. Trying to figure out if there's a setting I need to set (or unset) to allow myself to type in my domains and actually be taken to the page. I can receive email from within the server, but can't access email through outlook, because of it trying to connect to the domains. I have 4 static IPs provided by my ISP. I am running Alias on my linux server.. with alias, I have 4 internal IPs. On the router, I'm using NAT many to many. Any other information you need, please let me know. Thanks.

I'm sorry but I do not know the exact correct way around, or if there even IS a generally accepted way around.. but when we ran into the same thing I was told that it is a security problem for the router to pass traffic from the OUTSIDE that originated from an address that it knows is on the INSIDE. The router says "hey that address is on the INSIDE what kind of attack is this?"

What we did was give instruction to internal users on how to access the intranet and internet address.

SOrry, I saw NO replies so my two cents may help.

perhaps an entry, to tell the router that that particular external address is on the internal interface.. with a 255.255.255.255 mask.
