Cisco 831 router & VPN connection

My company is looking at purchasing the Cisco 831 router.
The main concern is how much this router with a VPN connection will slow down our current 4 megabit DSL connection. If anyone has an even slightly educated guess at the answer to this question we would appreciate your input, because at this point we do not have any idea of the effect.
