Cisco 827H & SOHO77H Router differences?

Looking at the hardware and the specifications of the Cisco 827H and SOHO77H Routers they appear to be EXACTLY the same. The documentation states the SOHO routers cannot be upgraded with more DRAM or FLASH but I have sucessfully added more DRAM without problems and the routers sees this extra memory.
I have attempted to upload 827 IOS to the SOHO 77 but it fails to boot saying something like 'incompatible platform'. Is there any way to make the SOHO 77H run 827 Code? - any jumpers or switches etc?

I can do most of the things I need I would just be happier with the Firewall Features that aren't available in the IP-only SOHO image.
