Cisco 76xx - turning up eth circuit and seeing only 1 way traffic

Hello,

I'm working on turning up two Cisco 76xx's and they are interconnected via GIG-E. I'm going to do routing between them (this is just my overview of the goal)..

In between that GIG-E I am also turning up the optical transport gear... Ciena 3600's via oc-48 and mapping eth ports across the wan. My problem i'm running into (which I know this is a Cisco forum but I know many of you have had experience turning up gig circuits between fiber systems).

Have you ever run into a situation when turning up a situation like this but only seeing 1 way traffic on the circuit? I'm seeing the gig link between both 76xx's as UP/UP, one router I see input/output packets, CDP works, and show ARP will show the mac addy of the local gig and remote gig interface. The "other" 76xx conn'ed via that GIGE shows as UP/UP but has no input packets. Only output packets incrementing.

I personally think I have a configuration problem on the Ciena gear, but I did set up the cross-connects as 2-way and also the framing is using GFP (which is common for eth circuits via sonet). Is there a setting I may be missing that someone has run into before? Seems like I have everything in order.

Thanks,

Rainman

Got a show ip route you can post from both routers, as well as a show interface?

Definately sounds like its on the DWDM gear to me.. Question for you though.. You could try enabling UDLD on the links, also what is the MTU size that the CIENNA and CISCO devices are set to?

Another question do you have your own fiber or are you muxing a carrier OC48 out?
