Does anybody know about the 7500 series router? I console to the router but can't get enable mode? When I tried the command enable it states that %no password set. Does anybody have any clues? Thanks

I thought about resetting the password but I can't figure out how to get into ROM mode? I'm using RSP 4 if this helps.

Thanks for the response but still no luck.

Ok, what terminal program are you using, and what OS? Also, has it ever worked in the past, or are you trying for the first time? Is this a laptop or desktop? Let us know...

I don't want to sound silly, but are you sure you are connected to the console port and not the auxiliarly port?? Aux port needs password set to go to enable mode...shouldn't need on from console.

I'm using Windows98 and XP. This is the first time with a 7500 router. I'm directly console to the Route switch processor. I can't figure it out! I press Ctrl+break which work on my other routers, also break, Ctrl,F5,break, still no luck. Any suggestions.

I even tried connecting at 1200 baud and pressing the spacebar trick, still no luck.

Read the last entry on this thread:

thread557-336318 talks about making a hardware *break* device. I've never heard of it or seen it, but it is worth a try. Maybe there are some settings that are causing you not to be able to be able to break. At least it might let you in....
