Cisco 4503 Problem

Here is a problem I have not seen before: When I try to do a "show run" command on a cisco 4503 switch I get this: "Unable to read configuration. Try again later". I have the switch running: IOS (tm) Catalyst 4000 L3 Switch Software (cat4000-I5S-M), Version 12.1(20)EW1, EARLY DEPLOYMENT RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1).
I have replace already the Supervisory card and the chasis. Everything else works and is running fine so what gives?

Is the switch operating? Does it function fine for everything except the show run?

Do a "show sessions" and see if there is another user logged into the switch that might be accessing the "show running-config".

If there isn't another person looking at the configuration, then try upgrading to the latest IOS.
