I have a network that consists of 4 Cisco 3550 switches running software version 12.1(19)EA1c. With the equipment that I have, I want to make sure the network is failover safe. The switches will be connected via a fiber loop using the GBIC-based Gigabit Ethernet Ports. I am doing this because I feel that if one of the fiber links between two of the switches goes down, then traffic will still be routed throughout the entire network.

Is this the best configuration on should I have used a different configuration?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

Given the switches you have, that's probably the best configuration.
